The Highest Bounties

What the berries really measure

A bounty in One Piece is the price the World Government puts on a pirate's head, written in berries. It's tempting to read it as a power ranking โ€” but it isn't, quite. A bounty measures how much of a threat someone is to the Government: their strength, yes, but also their influence, their crew, and how dangerous their ideas are. That's why the numbers sometimes surprise you.

The highest known bounties

As the story has revealed them, the largest confirmed bounties belong to the Emperors and the legends of the past. Approximate figures from the series:

PirateBounty (berries)
Gol D. Roger (Pirate King)5,564,800,000
Edward Newgate "Whitebeard"5,046,000,000
Kaido of the Beasts4,611,100,000
Charlotte Linlin "Big Mom"4,388,000,000
Shanks "Red-Haired"4,048,900,000
Marshall D. Teach "Blackbeard"3,996,000,000
Monkey D. Luffy (current)3,000,000,000

Figures reflect what the series has revealed so far and can change as the story continues. The pattern is clear: the Emperors cluster at the very top, with the late Pirate King and Whitebeard โ€” the icons of the previous era โ€” sitting above them all.

Why bounties aren't a pure power ranking

Several quirks show that berries measure threat, not just muscle:

Bounties in Grand Line Spin

Because a bounty is a story artifact rather than a clean power stat, Grand Line Spin shows each character's canon, era-accurate bounty on their Wanted card for flavor โ€” and your results screen tallies a combined crew bounty โ€” but your actual Crew Rating is driven by power and synergy, not berries. In other words: chase the builds that fit together, not just the biggest numbers. Our bounties, tiers & rarity guide explains exactly how each card's numbers feed into your score.
